With leave-behind permission, the driver may leave the parcel in a safe place if the recipient is not at home, for example in the garden or under the carport. As a webshop, you can switch this off for your whole account.
The recipient chooses Leave behind in Track & Trace, describes the spot and ticks a box confirming they cannot hold you or Trunkrs liable afterwards. The driver takes a photo of the parcel at that spot, which you can see in the Shipping Portal.
Once the driver has left the parcel with permission, responsibility passes to the recipient. Theft, loss or weather damage after that is not covered by our liability.
Switch off leave-behind permission
Do you send valuable or theft-prone products? Then switch the option off. The recipient will no longer see the button.
- Go to Settings in the Shipping Portal.
- Open Features Management.
- Switch off Leave-behind permissions. You only see Features Management in your main organisation.
When is this not possible?
- One-time PIN code (OTP): the recipient must be at home to give the PIN code.
- Age check (18+): the driver must check the recipient's age.
