At Trunkrs, we no longer use a signature for receipt. Instead, our driver takes a photo as proof of delivery. This way, you (and the webshop where you ordered) always know exactly where and how the package was delivered.
We understand you might be concerned about your privacy. That is why we would like to explain exactly what we photograph and how we protect your data.
What exactly is in the photo?
We only photograph what is strictly necessary to prove that the delivery was successful.
- For a normal delivery: The driver hands over the package and then takes a photo of the closed front door. We ensure that the house number and the package are clearly visible.
- When delivered to neighbors: We take a photo of the neighbors' front door and house number, plus the package.
- At an agreed safe place (Leave-behind permission): Have you given us permission to leave the package somewhere (for example, under a canopy or in a recycling bin)? Then we take a photo of the package in that specific spot.
How do we protect your privacy? (Faces are blurred)
Your privacy comes first. The goal is to capture the package and the delivery location, not the people around it.
- Automatic privacy filter: Our delivery app automatically detects if people are accidentally in the photo. Faces are immediately and automatically blurred before the photo is saved in our system. The driver does not have to do anything manually for this.
- Retention period: To protect your data, we store the delivery photos for up to 6 months. After this period, they are automatically and permanently deleted from our systems.
So, you don't have to worry about you, your children, or passers-by being recognizable in our systems.
Why is a photo better than a signature?
A photo offers much more certainty than a quick (often illegible) scribble on a scanner. Especially if you were not home, or if you had the package left in a safe place, the photo provides you with immediate, clear visual proof of the delivery.
