Are you not home yourself, but is your partner, child, or housemate there? Yes, in most cases they are allowed to accept the package.
What should you keep in mind?
There are two situations where the person opening the door needs something:
1. Package with PIN Code (OTP)
Did you receive a security code (PIN) via email or SMS?
- The rule: The driver may ONLY hand over the package if this code is entered on their scanner.
- What should you do? Make sure your housemate or partner has this code. So forward the email or text message to them!
2. Package with Age Check (18+)
Does your package contain alcohol or other 18+ products?
- The rule: The person opening the door must be at least 18 years old and be able to show a valid ID.
- Underage? Does a minor open the door? Then the driver is not allowed to hand over the package, even with parental permission.
