Pack each parcel in a sturdy, undamaged box with enough filling and seal it using the H-taping method. Stay within the maximum dimensions and weights.
If your packaging does not meet these guidelines, the shipment may be delayed, partly processed or refused. We may charge extra for incorrect or excessive packaging, and we may reject a damage claim.
Box and filling
- Choose a box that suits the weight and size: too full and it bursts, too empty and it collapses. Heavy or valuable? Use double-wall cardboard.
- No tears, damp patches or dents.
- Always send retail packaging inside an outer box.
- Fill empty space with material that does not compress, such as paper, air cushions or foam chips.
- Fragile: wrap each item separately in bubble wrap or foam and use dividers.
- Heavy: place it at the bottom and reinforce the base.
- Liquids: only in leak-proof inner packaging with sturdy outer packaging.
Sealing and labelling
- Seal the box with tape at least 48 mm wide: one strip along the centre seam and two across the edges (H-taping).
- Stick the label flat on the largest side, not over seams or edges, and without tape or film over it.
- Make sure only one barcode is visible and the label is printed sharply: not too bold and not too fast.
- Consider putting a packing slip or extra label inside the box, in case the outer label comes off.
Requirements for the label itself: see What requirements must a shipping label meet?
Frozen shipments
- Use insulation and freezer packaging suitable for 48 hours outside the freezer.
- Hand the parcel over at -18 °C or colder.
- Use sturdy plastic inner packaging against condensation and leakage.
